We realize that you can't fish with us every day so we will
share some of our tips and tricks here in the guidelog. We
may also throw in some other content, too - news, observations,
and, of course, the stories of the one that got away!
Jim and Brad Murphy both are published columnists so you

Going deeper with Captain Mack's Umbrella Rigs. Also schooling fish are showing up. August 31, 2008
12/31/1969 Deeper water is where we are trolling umbrella rigs for bigger fish. Schooling fish have started.
We are finding bigger fish over tree tops in 89-120 feet of water. Because of the water being low, we are hanging up on some trees. In order to get the umbrella rig back we use a umbrella retreiver. This works great to retreive the rig. We are trolling 20 feet deep and sometime we get hung up. We caught an eight pound large mouth bass and a twennty-two pound striper last week over the trees. Also last week the stripers started schooling on top. We were in a school from 7am-9am with non stop action. That same morning, we found another school from 10-11:30am. My clients had a great day of fishing.
